What happens at a consultation
A first consultation is a chance for us to get to know each other.
You will be asked lots of questions! These will range from detailed questions about why you have come to see a medical herbalist and any health concerns you might have, to information about your general health, lifestyle and wellbeing. If needed, and with your agreement, you will have a physical examination. We can also discuss any previous medical test results.
We will then discuss the options available for your treatment and work together to make a treatment plan that is best for you.
Follow up appointments allow us to monitor how your treatment is going and make personally tailored alterations if necessary.
We also offer annual health checks for existing clients. Please contact Victoria for more information.
Herbal medicine may be taken in a number of forms. The most common form is liquid herbal extraction called a tincture. It has an acquired taste! Other forms include tablets, teas and creams. Medicines are tailor-made for you personally so are not suitable for other people.
The length of your treatment varies and we will discuss and agree that as part of your treatment plan.
Information to bring with you
Please bring with you a list of all medicines (conventional and other and including contraceptive pills) and supplements you are currently taking as well as photocopies of any medical or diagnostic tests from your GP, hospital, or any other health practitioner (if you have them).
Fees and Costs
Initial Consultations: £55
Follow up Consulations: £45
Payment is required at the time of the consultation. Currently we only accept cash, cheque, or payment via Paypal or Pingit.
The price of any herbal medicines or supplements is in addition to the consultation fee. On average medicines cost £10 - 12 per week. However variations depend on plants and forms of medicines used. For example, herbal teas cost less than this.
Appointments and Cancellations
If you need to cancel your appointment, I would appreciate it if you would let me know at least 24 hours before. I may need to charge a cancellation fee of 50% of the consultation charge if you cancel after then.
As all consultations are scheduled by appointment only and according to their estimated duration, arriving late deprives you of your reserved time and could result in the rescheduling of your appointment. Should you be delayed for your appointment please let us know.
